The reactor core isn’t cracked, the earthquake rendored the cooling systems incapable of working and the back up generators failed at which point the rods (which are extremely hot and emit high levels of radiation if not sufficiently cooled) began to evaporate the cooling pool water and then melt down releasing radionucleotides into the atmosphere/jet stream.

The NINE diesel generators were OK under the complex. The Tsunami did not flood it,. The video by UN inspectors proved the room was pristine in condition!. Then why did the diesel generators not start/work ?. Stuxnet!.
It was the earthquake that started the meltdown, not the tsunami. Some want you to think it was the tsunami because it is more rare than earthquake. An earthquake can happen in the USA, like the one that hit the East Coast recently with nuclear plants within a few miles of millions in US cities. Please question and learn about this issue.
Good reporting! Balanced, with pro and contra clearly laid out and also the HUGE problem of rebuilding a country when it is contaminated badly. The coverup has split Japan in two. In order to deal with the issue first there must be honesty and then consensus. Without it, Japan, the whole world is at the hands of liers who do not understand long term consequences.

30? No my friend. It takes more than 50 years for radioactive materials to decrease in radiation, and then other 50 to have a minimum of radiation. It takes literally ages for these kind of materials to stop being hazardous…

Wait until the numbers come in for radiation poisoning, cancer & other related nuclear fallout illnesses, & not to mention that the land is now unable to grow edible crops or livestock.
